Northern Utah Raptor & Wildlife Safari - January & February
During the winter months, Northern Utah is home to bald eagles, northern harriers, rough-legged hawks, prairie falcons and American kestrels searching the frozen land for prey. Short ear owls and barn owls can also be seen hunting the frozen landscape. Our search can take us from Farmington Bay, to Antelope Island where American bison, pronghorn antelope, coyotes and mule deer are found as well as chukars, long billed curlews, northern harriers, and potentially great horned owls to name a few. I have spent countless hours in these locations, searching for and finding wildlife.
This is a chase safari, if the first location is slow, we will move on to the next location. For those interested in landscape photography, the Great Salt Lake can provide some dramatic sunsets which we can fully take advantage of from any of the locations. Our safaris start early morning and includes transportation from the meeting site to the various places to search for birds and wildlife.
Our 1/2 day trip we will make a convenience stop for a break part way through our morning. Our full day trip we will stop for lunch and several breaks as needed. Any snacks, drinks, lunch, etc are your cost.
At the end of the day, I will drop you back at our prearranged meeting place. As always with wildlife there are no guaranteed sightings.
1/2 day trip, approximately 4.5 - 5 hrs - $150 per person, limit 3 people per trip
